Reported by competitors
Simone Wild (Switzerland), first in Saturday's giant slalom:
The slope was different from yesterday's but nonetheless perfectly prepared. In the upper part the trail was difficult but in the second run I gave my best and this was enough for the victory. We were also lucky with the weather- it stayed clear until the end. Now I'm planning to take a few days rest and afterwards - FIS races until the end of the season. Everything was great in Borovets and I leave with wonderful impressions and memories. Never before have we received so much attention at EU Cup races. I whish to thank the organizers for everything and meet you again here in Borovets.
Clara Direz (France), second:
It was a very tough and interesting competition. I am satisfied of my performance in Borovets. The trail was perfectly prepared and for me it was a pleasure to compete here. I have never seen such good conditions at any EU Cup before. On my agenda I have FIS races until the end of the season as well as the World Junior Championship in Sochi.
Stephanie Brunner (Austria), third:
Today's race was also a very good one. The snow was different than yesterday but this did not change the conditions on the slope. I am very happy with my third place. Both starts here in Borovets were World Cup standard - everything: conditions, audience, TV and media conference ... it was all very professional. These were excellent starts for us. I am now going home to relax for 5 days and then- FIS races again.
Mr.Tzeko Minev, Bulgarian Ski Federation president:
Let us congratulate the best athletes and wish all to come back to Bulgaria. Thank you to the athletes for their kind words. We had a great week marked by 4 starts for EU Cup which is exceptional by all international standards. The most important thing is that this is all made for the sake of children and skiing and so that more and more people may visit the mountain and go out in the nature and get familiar and begin loving winter sports.
